VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN

Musical and teatral show in a public place

Inspired by Mary Shelley's novel

Creation 2005

A boat is shipwrecked, trapped in the ice floes. As a dying man is hauled aboard , a giant shadow appears...
The boat splits into pieces, transforming itself into a mountain, then a laboratory, and into a castle...
The actors and musicians perform in the middle, around and above the audience (and also with them) revealing the story of Victor Frankenstein and his Creature.

The Compagnie Jo Bithume, with the help of the set designers from Lucie Lom, revisits the Frankenstein myth to create an all ages show, accessible to all. A theatrical, visual and acrobatic performance, with music and film projection.... a moment of poetry, drama and comedy to be shared with 3000 people on a public place transformed for the occasion.

The theatre for its creative intelligence
The clown for its wonderful magic, mixed with suspense or laughter voyeurism of the spectators.
Music for the powerful emotions it evokes.
Film images for the powerful effects they generate.

"At a time when our ethics are questioned by science, we can take a trip back into the world of fiction. Back to the tragic lab of Victor Frankenstein, where for two centuries, under the light of flickering candles, Mary Shelley's imaginary Creature has been questioning mankind... "
